Support whilst you’re on the maternity unit at York Hospital
Some of our peer supporters undertake additional training in order to be able to support parents in the initiation of breastfeeding in the early days whilst on the maternity unit.
Our volunteers can be found G2 at York Hospital. We try attend as often as possible but cannot guarantee when a peer supporter will be available on the ward.

Although the hospital staff were a great help as we tried to establish breastfeeding, it was the visit from the Treasure Chest volunteer on our second evening which really got me through those first few days. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. And her fresh perspective was greatly received.
